Clipix and organize your life!

clipix is an unbelievably useful tool that is changing the way we organize our lives online. It solves the problem we all have of seeing tons of things online each day and never having a good way to save and organize them.

How’s it work? You drag a bookmark called the "Clip" button to your bookmarks bar. Then you click it whenever you see anything online that you want to come back to. Everything you clip will be stored in customized clipboards on clipix.

You can make clipboards for anything, whether it’s articles you want to read, gadgets you’re thinking of buying, gift ideas for family members, or recipes you can't wait to try. The list is literally endless.
Sharing on clipix is about sharing with people who care. You can clip collaboratively with friends on a syncboard. When anyone on the syncboard adds a clip, everyone else sees it in real-time.

Clipix also gives you great organizational tools like the ability to group multiple clipboards into a multiboard and rearrange your clipboards. We could go on and on but once you start using it you’ll be as addicted as we are.

I use Clipix for tons of things!! I mark books I want to read, movies I want to see. I use it to remind myself of upcoming events and make birthday and Christmas lists. You will not believe the endless amount of uses for this organization tool!

Promised Valley War by Ron Fritsch

My final book for this month's reviews is called "Promised Valley War" and it is also by Ron Fritsch. In this story two among a tribe of prehistoric peoples become both aware and curious about their “eternal” enemies, and while trying to treat them as their equals, set the stage for yet another horrifying war.

Promised Valley War is the second in Ron Fritsch’s Promised Valley four-novel series, in which prehistoric farmers inhabit a fertile river valley they believe their gods promised them in return for their good behavior and obedience. Their enemies, hunters roaming the mostly barren hills beyond the mountains enclosing the valley, believe their gods gave it to them. In the first book in the series, Promised Valley Rebellion, the farmers’ king refused to allow the marriage of the coming-of-age prince to the daughter of the farmer who’d saved the king’s life in the last war with the hunters. The daughter’s outspoken brother decided he had to help his sister and the prince, his boyhood friend, correct the flagrant injustice. That decision led them and their youthful allies into a rebellion against the king and his officials who ruled the kingdom from their bluff-top town. The far more numerous farmers in the villages below, who despised the highest officials but not the king, and who admired the prince, were in a position to determine whether the rebels would succeed or face execution for treason.

This book is a rare glimpse into a fascinating prehistoric world where anything and everything can happen, and does. It is a book to make you consider universal questions about humanity and this primitive world feels strangely real and memorable. It is the story’s prehistoric setting that provides the basis for the intellectual question which binds the Promised Valley books together: “Could civilization and history, with their countless heaven-sanctioned wars and genocides, have begun differently?”

About the Author

Ron Fritsch grew up in rural northern Illinois. His father and mother were hard-working tenant farmers who loved to read. He obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Illinois (major: history; minor: English literature) and a law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Ron became a public-service attorney representing indigent and disabled adults and abused and neglected children. All during his life as a lawyer, he spent most of his time writing arguments on behalf of his clients, in the trial courts as well as the higher appeals courts. For many years now, he has lived in Chicago. Find him on Facebook. or email him at ronfritsch@promisedvalley.com.

Promised Valley Rebellion by Ron Fritsch

Book 4 in my review series is "Promised Valley Rebellion" by Ron Fritsch. This is the first in a four-book Promised Valley Series, and it  transports readers to a prehistoric era and details the war between the farmers, called the valley people, and the more primitive, hunter-gatherers, the hill people. The book is filled with epic battles, love that is banned or forbidden, and much more. It is a moving story that draws you into the time and story of a land and a people from far away and long ago.

The plot follows two very sweet and yet doomed characters who have fallen in love. Morning Sun, the prince of the farmers, and Rose Leaf, his childhood sweetheart. Morning Sun is also very close with Rose's brother, Blue Sky. Rose and the Prince try to hide their love and laugh off any gossip about it but inside, their hearts are breaking because they know they are forbidden to marry.

The book reminded me of the tragedy and joy in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet because it deals with two very different casts of family. The royal family and the farm family. Two that shall never be allowed to intermingle. From a young age the two lovers are told they can never marry. Blue Sky, who is truly righteous, chooses to side with his sister and best friend. Together, they mount a rebellion against Tall Oak's officials--with the support of the farmers in the community--and the help of a particular man from the hills.

As you read this story the characters truly come to life. You will find yourself cheering on Morning Sun, Blue Sky, and Rose Leaf through their journey.

Journey to Virginland by Armen Melikian

The third book in my review series is called "Journey to Virginland". I know the title is a bit, well... let us just say titillating, but the book is not that sort of book, truly.   This book is many things, one of which is a very intriguing read, and not one for those who like light and airy writing. Journey is sad and funny and altogether crushing at times. The author is really an amazing writer.

The subject of the book is an extremely smart but  loutish and character known simply as Dog.
Dog pursues the answers to his questions about life, his place on Earth and other such subjects and does so at an unrelenting pace. His quest for identity and meaning in the universe causes him to revisit everything about his life, including his relationships with women, family, literature, and homeland. While doing so he has an abundance of commentary about history, religion, politics, and culture that unravel our very fabric.

Dog resides in a world called  The Republic of Virginland and he travels about studying other people and trying to understand their motivations and how they relate to him as a human being.   The author combines both biblical and fictional places, such as Satinland, to explain to the reader how the western civilization and the interaction between the sexes and cultures has led to numerous questions about Gods existence.

If you are looking for a highly praised book that will utilize all your thought processes regarding life, the Universe and how we came to be, you will love Journey to Virginland.

About the Author:

Melikian earned a Master’s in International Relations from American University, Washington, D.C. He also studied mathematics at Harvard and elsewhere. However, he eventually abandoned both politics and mathematics in favor of literature and dedicated his life to writing. Melikian lives in Los Angeles.

To date, awards and honors earned by Melikian’s debut novel, Journey to Virginland, include the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for Best Fiction. The novel was selected by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards as one of the year’s top five books in Humor/Comedy, and received the only Honorable Mention in the Literary Fiction category at ForeWord Reviews’ Book of the Year Awards.
